The Golden West Humanitarian Foundation (GWHF) officially began its collaboration with Quang Tri province in 2017, focusing on war recovery and socio-economic development projects. This commitment was reaffirmed during a meeting on October 8 between Hoang Nam, Vice Chairman of the Quang Tri People’s Committee, and Allan Vosburgh, President and CEO of GWHF.
At the meeting, Vosburgh expressed gratitude for the support from Quang Tri’s leadership, which has facilitated the successful implementation of the foundation’s collaborative programs in the province.

GWHF started its official partnership with Quang Tri’s Department of Foreign Affairs and the Provincial Military Command in 2017 through the project “Technical Consultation, Training, and Capacity Building for Explosive Remnants of War Clearance.” The goal of the project is to help clear land contaminated by unexploded ordnance, improve living conditions, contribute to local socio-economic development, and minimize the risk of accidents caused by explosive remnants of war, thus protecting the lives and property of the people.
From 2022 to 2024, the organization is collaborating with the province to implement the “Drowning Prevention for Children in Quang Tri” project, which is being carried out in Dong Ha city and the districts of Trieu Phong, Vinh Linh, and Cam Lo.
Hoang Nam praised GWHF’s activities in Quang Tri and stated that the province aims to become a safe area free from landmines and explosive materials by 2025. He hopes the NGO will continue its partnership to help Quang Tri achieve this goal.
Established in 1998, GWHF is a non-governmental organization that has been operating in Vietnam since 2007 in the areas of mine clearance support and educational development for children. It has programs in Hanoi, Quang Binh, and Quang Tri.
