The Steering Committee for External Information of Quang Tri Province last week held a conference to disseminate updates on communication and propaganda policies.
At the conference, Dang Dinh Quy, former Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and former Head of the Permanent Mission of Vietnam to the United Nations, delivered a presentation on ongoing issues in the globe and on the East Sea (South China Sea), and major diplomatic policies.

According to Quy, the world in recent years has gone through complex and unpredictable movements. Peace, cooperation, and integration for development remain dominant trends, but there are significant challenges.
Strategic competition among major powers is intensifying, and urgent global issues get more complicated. The Russia-Ukraine conflict remains a difficult issue that affects the global landscapes.
The former Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs suggested that Vietnam strengthen its national resilience and capacity to withstand external shocks.
He recommended that the country make critical breakthroughs in institutional development, human resource advancement, and infrastructure improvements, all aligned with rising demands for digital transformation, green transition, and deeper global integration.
“It is crucial to enhance the efficient use of resources and minimize losses. In foreign affairs, Vietnam must always be prepared to handle emerging issues promptly,” Quy said.
“The country should strive to deepen relationships with key partners, especially those vital to its security and development.”
The conference aimed to raise awareness and contribute to more effectively carrying out the task of external information dissemination at local levels.
It encourages active participation in diplomatic activities and promotes the image of Vietnam and Quang Tri Province to international friends.
At the same time, it aims to prevent and counteract hostile forces' schemes, distortions, and wrongful viewpoints, especially those spread online.
