Thai Ambassador to Vietnam Urawadee Sriphiromya, Thai consul-general Wiraka Moodhitaporn, and officials from the Embassy of Thailand in Hanoi and the Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City joined the delegation to the school.

Chairman of the Quang Tri People’s Committee Vo Van Hung and Deputy Chairman of the People’s Committee Hoang Nam received the delegation.

During the meeting, the principal of Nguyen Tat Thanh Primary School conveyed their pride and happiness at having the Princess and other delegation members.

Established in 1994, the school consistently aims to model excellent instruction and excellent learning, consistently completes tasks with excellence, and accomplishes many notable goals.

The school of 38 staff and teachers and 816 students participated in the project on improving the quality of life of children and youth in the Asia-Pacific in August 2023.

In March 2024, a delegation from the project office in Thailand came to train teachers and students on static hydroponic growing, growing bean sprouts, making fertilizer, and consulting on school health, and kitchens.

By starting the “I Love Agriculture” Club, the school has introduced activities that have drawn in a sizable student, teacher, and parent participation. In addition to teaching students life skills, the activities allowed them to experience and practice supporting their love of nature.

After touring the school’s facilities, the Thai Princess and the delegation expressed their satisfaction with the medical room, the reading area outside the schoolyard, the green vegetable garden project, the school’s small planning activity area (garbage collection and classification), the library, the kitchen area, and a visit to a classroom.

On this occasion, the Thai Princess gave Nguyen Tat Thanh Primary School five desktop computer sets, two filtered water bottles, personal hygiene kits, school supplies, sports and physical education learning aids, and farming and animal husbandry instruction manuals.

Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, born in 1955, is the third child of the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej and she is the younger sister of Thailand’s King Maha Vajiralongkorn. Since 1993, she has visited Vietnam multiple times and launched many charity and education projects in the country.
