Quang Tri Province wants to attract Japanese investors to trade, tourism, and services, said Provincial Party Committee Secretary Le Quang Tung on August 7.

He also expected that Japanese agencies would help further develop the East-West Economic Corridor to foster growth among participating countries.
Secretary Tung highlighted Quang Tri’s strategic position as the starting point of the East-West Economic Corridor, emphasizing the province’s efforts to leverage this advantage.
According to him, there are vast opportunities for cooperation in economic, trade, tourism, and service sectors along the corridor. Quang Tri has carried out some infrastructure projects to explore and make the best use of its advantages, including the My Thuy Deepwater Port, the Quang Tri Airport, and the National Route No.9 connecting Lao Bao International Border Gate to Dong Ha City.
“We are determined to further develop its eastern regions by setting up the Southeast Economic Zone, industrial parks, and renewable energy projects,” Tung said.
The province seeks to strengthen cooperation with Japanese localities, particularly Hiroshima, by building its brand as a “City of Peace”.

He hoped the two localities would soon sign a friendship agreement to enhance their collaboration in socio-economic development and other activities and that Japan would provide more ODA loans for Quang Tri.
The provincial Party Chief highlighted that effective economic cooperation and Japanese ODA projects are essential to Quang Tri’s socio-economic development.
In his part, Consul General Mori Takero appreciated Quang Tri’s warm reception and congratulated the province on the successful 2024 Peace Festival.
He pledged to enhance the relationship between Quang Tri and Japanese localities, especially with Hiroshima, and to facilitate Japanese business investments, particularly in green energy and renewable sectors.
At the meeting, Party Secretary Le Quang Tung and Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Vo Van Hung congratulated Mori on his new position. They expressed confidence in his ability to excel in diplomatic relations at the Japanese Consulate in Danang.
