The People’s Committee of Quang Tri Province recently organized a program to welcome foreign enterprises to Vietnam for trade meetings with localities in the North Central region in 2025, along with a direct business-to-business (B2B) matchmaking conference. This event offered an opportunity for domestic companies, including those from Quang Tri, to strengthen cooperation, enhance production capacity, and gradually introduce Vietnamese products into international distribution systems.
As part of the program, representatives of foreign companies visited and surveyed several factories and raw material production zones in Quang Tri Province to gain deeper insights into local products and explore potential business connections.

After observing the rice production and processing line at the Sepon Rice Drying Factory of Quang Tri Trading Corporation, Mr. Zheng Yiping, Director of Hunnan Brother New Materials Co., Ltd. from China, remarked, “This field trip helped me realize that agricultural products sourced directly from Vietnam are of very high quality. In particular, the production process at this organic rice processing plant is clean and well-managed. I believe there is strong potential for trade cooperation in local agricultural products, pending further evaluation procedures.”
Meanwhile, Ms. Tran Thi Thuy, the technical lead for rice production at Quang Tri Trading Corporation, shared: “Through this meeting with foreign businesses at our factory, we had the opportunity to present our full rice production process—from cultivation to processing and packaging. Our production line stands out from other products in the market, and with our internationally standardized processes, we can better understand international demand, expand our exports, and promote our agricultural products, especially organic rice.”
Welcoming the delegation with enthusiasm, Ms. Trinh Thi Ai, Director of Viet Wooden Workshop Joint Stock Company, stated: “Our company specializes in producing incense sticks, agarwood essential oils, and agarwood bracelets made entirely from natural materials. We hope that in the near future, we will have the opportunity to bring these environmentally friendly and culturally meaningful products from Quang Tri to international markets under green and clean standards.”
Participating in the trade connection conference, Mr. Tran Ngoc Long, Director of Gold Herbal Pharmaceutical Joint Stock Company (located in 9D Industrial Park, Nam Dong Ha Ward), affirmed the company’s commitment to developing product lines derived from medicinal herbs and clean, environmentally friendly agricultural resources. He stated, “We look forward to cooperating with international businesses, distributors, and strategic partners to expand our market reach, improve product quality, and jointly build a sustainable business community.”
The direct B2B matchmaking conference saw the active participation of 60 enterprises and cooperatives from provinces across the North Central region. The event showcased and connected regionally distinctive products that meet export production and processing standards or demonstrate potential for international market development.

The main product categories included agricultural products, processed foods, handicrafts, OCOP-certified goods, consumer products, and outstanding rural industrial items. The strong presence of domestic businesses, along with well-prepared product samples, promotional materials, visuals, and display designs, reflected the proactive approach and export readiness of the North Central region. It also created favorable conditions for establishing practical and long-term cooperative relationships with international partners.
One of the most notable successes that underscores the special significance of this year’s program is the participation of more than 15 foreign companies and distributors from key strategic and high-potential markets, including Thailand, China, Japan, and Laos. The presence of businesses from countries with substantial consumption and distribution capacities not only demonstrates the appeal, reputation, and potential of products from the North Central region, but also serves as a positive signal of the region’s growing position within both regional and global supply chains.
This represents a significant opportunity for domestic companies to not only gain access to new export markets but also to establish long-term bilateral and multilateral trade partnerships. It also promotes technology transfer, enhances production capabilities, and helps gradually integrate Vietnamese products into international distribution networks. Mr. Zheng Yiping added that his company has a strong demand for agricultural products such as pepper and sliced cassava, and he has learned that Quang Tri Province offers these products at high quality. He expressed his hope of finding reliable partners through this conference.
“We look forward to continued cooperation between the Quang Tri provincial government, the Vietnam Trade Promotion Agency under the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the national digital platform Vivina, and companies from the North Central provinces and cities of Vietnam and our firm in the field of trade. Our goal is to bring the region’s agricultural products into the Chinese and international markets,” said Mr. Zheng Yiping.
Mr. Tran Phi Tuong, Deputy Director of the Quang Tri Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion Center, noted that a unique feature of this year’s program is its combination of trade promotion with investment promotion. A key focus is on marketing and encouraging domestic and foreign businesses and investors to study and survey the potential and strengths of raw material sources in the North Central region for investment in projects and processing facilities.
“Through on-site visits to factories and raw material areas—such as those producing medicinal herbs, agricultural goods, and food—we aim to attract business interest and drive a wave of investment in processing and production across the region. This is a practical solution to increase the added value of local products, develop a sustainable supply chain, and create momentum for long-term economic growth in the province,” Mr. Tuong stated.
On the sidelines of the business matchmaking conference, an exhibition was held to showcase and promote OCOP products, outstanding rural industrial goods, and signature items from enterprises in the North Central region. All participating products met quality standards, food safety and hygiene requirements, and were fully labeled with information on origin and traceability.
At the exhibition, businesses from the North Central region engaged in direct B2B meetings and discussions with partners from Thailand, Japan, China, and Laos. These interactions led to the signing of contracts and memoranda of understanding for the supply, distribution, and consumption of products.
On this occasion, the organizers also facilitated connections between participating companies and businesses providing logistics and import-export services. This support aimed to assist enterprises in the process of establishing and operating cross-border trade and distribution channels.
After nearly six years of implementing the “One Commune, One Product” program (OCOP), a total of 138 products across the province have been certified as OCOP products. However, only two of these products have been submitted to the National Evaluation and Classification Council for consideration and recognition at the 5-star level.
Among the 138 OCOP-certified products in the province, 43 have received 4-star ratings, while 95 have been rated 3 stars. The two products proposed for national-level evaluation and potential 5-star recognition are Khe Sanh coffee produced by Khe Sanh Agricultural Cooperative, and the health supplement made from Solanum procumbens (cà gai leo) by An Xuan Organic Herbal Medicine Company Limited.
