Vice Chairman of the Quang Tri Provincial People’s Committee Hoàng Nam on August 16 highly appreciated the support provided by World Vision International (WVI) in Vietnam.

Since 2000, WVI’s projects and non-project activities in the province have mounted to a total value of US$46.2 million, accounting for approximately 15% of the province’s total foreign non-governmental aid, the vice chairman reported.
Sharing the history, culture, and people of Quang Tri, Vice Chairman Nam noted that the province suffered great losses during the wars.
“After peace was restored, Quang Tri’s people have faced significant challenges, especially in developing sustainable livelihoods in mountainous areas,” he said.
Nam expected that WVI will continue its partnership in the coming years, particularly in child nutrition and health, as well as in supporting sustainable livelihoods and community-based tourism models.
“Quang Tri is committed to providing the best possible conditions and actively collaborating with the WVI in Vietnam, the World Vision Korea and others to ensure the effective project implementation,” he said.
He stressed that 2025 will mark the 25th anniversary of the partnership between Quang Tri and the WVI, and that the two sides should review their achievements and plan future collaborations.
In response, Doseba Tua Sinay, the Country Director of WVI in Vietnam, said the delegation is delighted to visit the province.
He said that the visit holds significant importance, allowing the delegation to observe firsthand WVI in Vietnam’s specific activities and outcomes in Quang Tri over the years.
Regarding the proposals from the provincial vice chairman, the WVI Country Director said that the organization will consider develop new plans to support livelihoods and tourism models for the local population.
The WVI will draft a specific plan for the 25th-anniversary celebrations of the partnership, Doseba added.
