The opening ceremony of the Festival for Peace 2024 in Quang Tri Province will be held on the evening of July 6. During this event, visitors to the central province can enjoy exceptional artistic programs and pick from various local agricultural products and culinary specialties to sample and purchase as gifts for friends and family.
Many local manufacturers and businesses of the province’s signature products and agricultural goods are meticulously preparing for the upcoming event.

Mai Thi Thuy, Director of Dinh Son Mai Thi Thuy Medicinal Materials Company Limited (in Cam Nghia Commune, Cam Lo District), said she hopes the local authorities and relevant departments will provide guidance and facilitate their display and introduction of herbal medicine products, especially the One Commune One Product (OCOP) items, at the various program locations and activities within the festival.
“With over 40 herbal medicine products extracted from local herbs and tree leaves, including seven certified as three-star and four-star OCOP items, we are currently ramping up production, processing, and improving packaging and branding,” she said.
"We are also intensifying promotion and introduction on social media platforms and e-commerce sites to serve the needs of customers attending the festival, sightseeing, and traveling in Quang Tri."
She added that her company’s products are sold in Dong Ha City’s supermarket system and some tourist sites across the province. We also offer the option for home delivery if customers request it.
“I believe that by integrating with tourism, our products will gain wider exposure and better sales,” she underlined.
Participating in the festival, the KheSanh Agri-Product Cooperative (in Huong Tan Commune, Huong Hoa District) has continuously improved the quality of its products, promoted the local specialty coffee, and showcased the cooperative’s exemplary rural industrial goods and four-star OCOP items to visitors and consumers during the festival.
The cooperative has modernized its production processes, invested in appealing packaging, and diversified its product selection and pricing to make it convenient for customers to browse, buy, and gift the products to friends and family.
Ho Minh Thanh, the owner of the Hue Banh Loc(rice dumpling cake) production facility (in My ChanhVillage, Hai ChanhCommune, Hai Lang District), said that during the festival period, the facility will increase its workforce and invest in additional machinery to produce 4,000 - 5,000 cakes per day.
"Our products are made entirely from locally available raw materials, ensuring freshness and food safety. The products have also been certified as three-star OCOP items and are recognized as exemplary rural industrial products at the provincial level. On average, our facility produces 2,000 - 3,000 cakes daily," he added.
The province is home to 138 OCOP products, including 43 rated four stars and 95 rated three stars. These OCOP products are produced by 76 entities, including 21 cooperatives, nine cooperative groups, 22 enterprises, and 24 production-business households.
Among the total OCOP products, over one-third are processed from medicinal plants. Key products include coffee, medicinal extracts, black pepper, and organic rice.
Such items in the province meet quality/safety standards and have attractive packaging and branding to ensure traceability. The OCOP producers are currently focused on supplying the market and have proactively connected with tourism sites to expand the market and promote the locality’s OCOP products while innovating to meet customer needs.
The festival will take place during the peak tourist season in July, the month of gratitude, so many visitors are expected to come and experience the offerings.
