More than 20 households have participated in the Project on Sustainable Forest Management and Biodiversity Conservation. The project has supported 150,000 hybrid acacia produced by tissue culture on 75 ha of land, or 2,000 seedlings per ha in the three communes.

It also supported 90,000 seedlings of acacia hybrid and 100,000 tissue seedlings for seven nurseries in Cam Lo, Gio Linh, Vinh Linh and Hai Lang districts.

The afforestation model without burning vegetation aims to reduce CO2 emissions and minimize the risk of forest fires and environmental pollution.

It will also help local households enhance the productivity and quality of crops, facilitates planting large timber forests, set the target of receiving FSC certification, and works with many businesses to ensure stable output.

The FSC certification confirms that the forest is being managed in a way that preserves biological diversity and benefits the lives of local people and workers, while ensuring it sustains economic viability. FSC-certified forests are managed to strict environmental, social and economic standards.
