At the meeting, Quang Tri authorities briefed the delegation on the province’s socio-economic development and international development cooperation plans for the coming time.
Quang Tri and Ubon Ratchathani officially established friendly relations on January 18, 2024, creating a premise for cooperation between the two sides in all fields.
According to Supasit Kocharoenyous, Ubon Ratchathani has required many agencies to realize the content of the memorandum of understanding signed on January 18.

"This visit aims to discuss measures to promote cooperation between the two provinces. We want to strengthen cooperation with Quang Tri in various fields," said Kocharoenyous.
The relationship between the two sides will witness significant progress in the near future, especially after the opening of the sixth Friendship Bridge connecting Ubon Ratchathani Province with the Salavan Province of Laos. This bridge will shorten the route from Ubon Ratchathani to La Lay border gate, My Thuy port area, helping accelerate the cooperative relationship between the two sides.

Vice Chairman of Quang Tri People’s Committee Dong said that the province has urged all sectors to focus cooperation on investment, trade and services, and tourism.
Recognizing the critical role of the 6th Friendship Bridge in the cooperative relationship between the parties, Quang Tri Province has set up plans to build the National Highway 15D connecting the La Lay Border Gate with Salavan Province and Pakse of Champasack (Laos), and Ubon Ratchathani (Thailand).
At the meeting, Dong invited Governor Supasit Kocharoenyous and his entourage to attend an international conference on the project of the cross-border joint economic and trade zone between Quang Tri (Vietnam) and Savannakhet (Laos) on March 15, 2024, which is expected to boost cooperation on the East-West Economic Corridor.
