Speaking at the signing ceremony, the Chairman of the Quang Tri Province People’s Committee of Vo Van Hung emphasized the significance of the delegation from Ubon Ratchathani Province visiting and working in Quang Tri Province, especially considering the flourishing cooperation and friendship between Vietnam and Thailand across various sectors. Both sides are actively promoting the implementation of the strategic partnership action plan for the 2022-2027 period.
Hung added that this meeting holds great importance for both Quang Tri and Ubon Ratchathani provinces, marking the beginning of the implementation of their collaboration plans through the signing of a memorandum of understanding to establish friendly relations. This contributes significantly to the construction and development of both provinces in various fields, he noted.

Expressing joy for the visit and work in Quang Tri Province, the Governor of Ubon Ratchathani Province, Supasit Kocharoenyos, affirmed that the establishment of cooperation between Quang Tri and Ubon Ratchathani will create opportunities to strengthen collaboration, jointly promote prosperity and mutual development on an equal basis, benefiting both parties. This will also strengthen the relationship between Quang Tri and the provinces in Northeastern Thailand, including Ubon Ratchathani.
Governor Supasit Kocharoenyos provided additional information, stating that Ubon Ratchathani is currently constructing its sixth friendship bridge, connecting with Salavan Province in Laos. Upon completion, this bridge will reduce travel time between Ubon Ratchathani, Salavan, and Quang Tri, particularly in transporting goods from Thailand and Laos to the My Thuy Quang Tri port on the East-West Economic Corridor, thereby opening up many investment cooperation opportunities in the future.
After discussing key points, the leaders of both provinces signed a memorandum of understanding to establish friendly relations between them. The commitment involves cooperation to jointly promote prosperity and common development on an equal basis, benefiting both parties in various areas in line with the policies and laws of each country, and international commitments. The agreement encourages organizing exchange visits between officials from both sides and annual meetings to monitor and evaluate the outcomes of projects, ensuring tangible and mutually beneficial results for both parties.
Both sides will consult each other on the methods and programs of cooperation to implement this memorandum through annual meetings or other necessary meetings to monitor and evaluate the results of projects, ensuring specific and mutual benefits for both parties.
