Quang Tri pilots eco- adventure tourism at Ta Du Waterfall

In a promising move to diversify Quang Tri’s tourism offerings, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Le Duc Tien, has signed off on a policy allowing Jungle Boss Co., Ltd. , based in Phong Nha Town, Bo Trach District, Quang Binh Province, to pilot an eco-adventure tourism product at Ta Du Waterfall in Tan Hop Commune, Huong Hoa District.

To ensure a safe and sustainable experience, the Quang Tri Provincial People’s Committee has emphasized that, prior to the pilot launch, Jungle Boss must implement comprehensive safety measures for both visitors and staffs. The company is also required to comply fully with all legal regulations concerning forestry, environmental conservation, and the protection of natural resources.

The Provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism has been tasked with coordinating relevant agencies, departments, and local authorities to appraise the project in accordance with the Law on Tourism and other applicable regulations. This includes assessing the model, service quality, and conducting close supervision during the pilot phase.

Following the pilot program, the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Quang Tri Province will step in to guide Jungle Boss in formalizing a full eco-tourism project. This plan must align with sustainable forest management principles approved by the appropriate state agencies, before being submitted for official review and implementation.

Meanwhile, the Provincial Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion Center will continue to support the company in executing the pilot project. This includes providing assistance in marketing and promoting the new tourism product in line with provincial strategies and the broader tourism promotion agenda of Quang Tri.

On the local level, the People’s Committee of Huong Hoa District is committed to working closely with Jungle Boss Co., Ltd. to facilitate the rollout of this tourism initiative. The district will help ensure tourist safety, maintain social order, preserve environmental hygiene, and uphold forest fire prevention and protection measures.

Just three kilometers from Khe Sanh Town, Ta Du Waterfall, located in Ta Du Village, Tan Hop Commune, boasts a prime location for tourism connectivity and service development. Nestled at an altitude ranging from 500 to 700 meters, the area features mountainous terrain interspersed with lush valleys, a tropical humid climate, an average annual temperature of 24.9°C, and abundant rainfall of 1,900 to 2,500 mm per year. Air humidity levels remain consistently high, ranging from 88% to 91%.

This three-kilometer-long stream originates in the high mountains and flows gracefully through a vibrant green forest canopy. Along its journey, it forms a series of waterfalls, natural rock formations, and sandy banks to crafting a raw and mesmerizing landscape. The surrounding forest ecosystem is rich with endemic flora and fauna typical of the Truong Son mountain range, making it an ideal destination for eco-tourism and adventure lovers.

Activities such as trekking, zip lining, stream bathing, camping, and forest exploration are especially well-suited to the area, which offers not only natural beauty but also a genuine sense of wilderness.

As Quang Tri continues to develop as a tourism destination, the pilot at Ta Du Waterfall marks an exciting step toward unlocking the province’s vast eco-adventure potential.
