Located in an area of 10,000sq.m, the center is designed to have three blocks with many patient rooms and amenities, such as coffee shops, gyms, synthetic swimming pools, swimming pools for exercise and treatment, and a children’s playground.
Local agencies have concurred with KOICA to accomplish the design, ensuring its effectiveness and sustainability and creating a premise to promote the relationship between Vietnam and Korea. Korean partners committed to completing the center’s design in the next seven months.
In a meeting with Deputy Director of KOICA in Vietnam Choi Jeyun held in the province recently, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Hoang Nam said the rehabilitation center would meet the needs of local people with disabilities thanks to its various functions.
Nam stressed that the center should be built to endure harsh weather in Quang Tri. It should be made of wood and equipped with a solar energy system to protect the environment.Despite consenting to the idea of open design, Nam requires ensuring security for the center.
Meanwhile, trees should be selected to suit the local climate while retaining Korea’s unique features. When put into operation, the rehabilitation center’s operation will follow the Korean model but be suitable for Vietnamese conditions. It will create a premise for other rehabilitation centers nationwide.
