Quang Tri taps HCMC market with OCOP, specialty product showcase

The Quang Tri Provincial People’s Committee announced it will host a series of trade promotion and business networking events at Co.opmart Foodcosa in Go Vap District, Ho Chi Minh City, from May 30 to June 1, 2025.

The province’s Center for Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion is organizing the events in coordination with local authorities and relevant departments. The program features three key components, including Quang Tri Product Day in Ho Chi Minh City, a trade promotion conference connecting local goods with southern distribution networks, and a workshop on virtual storefronts and livestreaming on major e-commerce platforms. The initiative aims to boost the visibility of Quang Tri products in southern Vietnam, particularly across modern retail and online channels.

Roughly 15 to 20 businesses, cooperatives, and producers from Quang Tri are expected to join the event, showcasing 100 to 150 featured products ranging from organic rice and black pepper to coffee, herbal extracts, and processed seafood. Many of the items are certified under Vietnam’s One Commune One Product (OCOP) program, while others have been recognized as standout rural industrial goods or regional specialties.

In addition to showcasing products, participating businesses and cooperatives will engage directly with distributors and retail partners to present their offerings and sales strategies, to sign distribution agreements and memoranda of understanding. Technology experts and government officials will also provide guidance on setting up virtual booths and livestreaming, aiming to enhance sales capabilities and broaden market access.

The Quang Tri Provincial People’s Committee has requested support from Ho Chi Minh City’s People’s Committee, particularly the Investment and Trade Promotion Center (ITPC), to help coordinate and promote the event. It has also called on Saigon Co.op to provide venue space, display equipment, and logistical support as part of efforts to implement the cooperation agreement between the two localities.

The event aims to strengthen Quang Tri’s product branding, drive consumption, and integrate trade promotion with efforts to attract tourism and investment to the province.
