Quang Tri’s businesses boost production after Tet

At the beginning of the year, there is a vibrant atmosphere of production in enterprises and industrial units across the province. Workers enter their shifts with enthusiasm, demonstrating their determination to help their companies exceed the set targets. It is hoped that 2024 will bring new successes.

Alongside other companies in the province, starting from February 19, 2024, the production atmosphere at Hoa Tho Dong Ha Garment Company has been bustling. Receiving additional orders from the early days of the year has spread a sense of industriousness among production lines and workers.

Chairman of the Trade Union of Hoa Tho Dong Ha Garment Company, Hoang Quang Trung, stated, "From the early days of the new year, the rate of workers returning to work has exceeded 99%. Currently, the company provides employment for 1,200 workers with an average income of VND7.2 million (US$292) per person per month. The revenue in 2023 reached VND145 billion ($5.9 million).

Since February 19, all leaders, officers, employees, and workers of the company have started the new year’s production and business activities with the determination to exceed the set plans. Currently, the company has orders scheduled until August 2024, which is truly delightful news, igniting excitement among workers from the beginning of the year. According to the plan, the company will recruit around 100 more workers to meet production demands.

Green Central Region Garment Development Joint Stock Company resumed operations after the Tet holiday on February 19 with over 95% of workers participating in production. Returning to work after a long holiday, employees of the company enthusiastically engage in work to meet the first post-Tet orders with hopes for a prosperous new year.

Chairwoman of the Trade Union of Green Central Region Garment Development Joint Stock Company, Hoang Thi Quynh Nhu, shared, "Employees are excited to return to work. From the beginning of the year, the company has issued notices regarding the implementation of clear rights and benefits for workers. As a result, employees feel secure in their bond with the company. Currently, the company is providing employment for 150 workers with an average income of VND5.5 million ($223) per person per month.

Although it’s only February 2024, the company has received orders until July 2024, so to meet work requirements, the company plans to recruit an additional 100 workers for various positions. In 2024, the company plans to open a new branch in Cam Lo District with around 3 production lines, providing employment for 120 - 150 workers in the area.

In the early days of the year, the working atmosphere at Jinquan Vietnam Travel Tools Co., Ltd. is bustling, with production lines speeding up their pace. Despite facing numerous challenges in production and business in 2023, the company still managed the welfare of its employees well, serving as the motivation for 700 workers to confidently commit themselves to the company’s development.

Chairwoman of the Trade Union of Jinquan Vietnam Travel Tools Co., Ltd., Le Minh Ngoc, stated, "Thanks to the effective management of welfare and protection of legitimate rights of workers before, during, and after the Lunar New Year, the majority of employees have returned to work, engaging in production from the very beginning of the year. According to the plan, the company intends to recruit additional workers to meet the demands of the workload and ensure timely completion of orders."

The enthusiastic work atmosphere and spirit are evident in the days following the Tet holiday. According to the provincial labor union, from February 15, 2024, most agencies, units, and many companies in the province commenced their new year’s production, with members and workers returning to work with high spirits.

Many units have coordinated with trade unions to visit and encourage members and workers on their first working day. From the beginning of the year, many companies in the garment sector have found new orders. Alongside this, many companies aiming to expand their business scale have plans to recruit more workers.

To timely care for members and workers, contributing to stabilizing the labor market in the province, the trade union organization always accompanies companies to solve difficulties and maintain employment for workers. Simultaneously, attention is paid to the rights of workers, ensuring their peace of mind and long-term commitment to the companies.

Previously, to ensure members and workers enjoyed a joyful and warm Tet holiday, the provincial labor union had early directives regarding Tet care for members, workers, and civil servants. Trade union levels actively monitored the full and timely payment of workers' salaries, proposed companies pay attention to Tet bonuses, and the 13th-month salary for workers. This helped detect and prevent labor disputes during Tet.

Alongside care work, the provincial labor union directed trade union levels to mobilize members, workers, and civil servants in the province to organize joyful, safe, and economical New Year celebrations. Proactive coordination with expertise was emphasized to ensure safety and order at agencies and companies; assigning officials and members on duty during Tet as per regulations to ensure security during the Lunar New Year holiday in 2024.

In 2024, companies still recognize there will be favorable conditions, challenges, and difficulties intertwined. However, with the production and business results achieved in 2023, coupled with the enthusiastic production atmosphere in the new year, this truly signifies positive momentum, providing additional strength for companies in the province to continue striving and aiming for high growth rates.
