Quang Tri receives Laos first-class Labor Order

A delegation from Champasak Province (Laos), led by Deputy Governor and Chairman of the Laos-Vietnam Friendship Association in Champasak Province, Somboun Heuangvongsa, on January 14 visited Quang Tri Province. On behalf of the Lao Party and State, the delegation presented the First-Class Labor Order from the President of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic to Quang Tri Province. They also extended New Year greetings to Quang Tri’s provincial leaders on the occasion of Vietnam’s traditional Lunar New Year (Tet).

This is in recognition of Quang Tri’s contributions to fostering cooperation and supporting the development of Champasak. The occasion also marked the 45th anniversary of the signing of the Laos-Vietnam Friendship and Cooperation Treaty and the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Laos and Vietnam.

Deputy Governor Somboun Heuangvongsa expressed gratitude for the strong bonds of solidarity and brotherly support extended by the Party, government, and people of Quang Tri to Champasak Province. On the occasion of Vietnam’s 2025 traditional Lunar New Year, he conveyed wishes of health, success, and prosperity to the province’s leaders, officials, armed forces, and residents. He reaffirmed his confidence that the great friendship and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos, and particularly between Quang Tri and Champasak, would remain vibrant and enduring.

Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairman of the Quang Tri People’s Committee Hoang Nam expressed honor in receiving the First-Class Labor Order and welcomed the Champasak delegation’s visit and New Year greetings to Quang Tri’s officials and residents. Reflecting on their shared journey, the two provinces took pride in the rare and special friendship that the two Parties and States of Vietnam and Laos had painstakingly built and nurtured, serving as a foundation for further strengthening comprehensive cooperation between Quang Tri and Champasak for the 2024-2026 period.
