The festival will introduce Quang Tri Province as a cultural destination for peace, with the local people’s expectation to overcome damages left by the war and build a peaceful life.
Quang Tri aims to become a meeting place for domestic and international tourists, contributing to promoting the province’s tourism industry and socio-economic development.
To prepare for the festival, the provincial People’s Committee, with support from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, has developed a plan that includes five main activities, with the participation of distinguished guests from many countries, international organizations, and foreign tourists.
“We hope that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will be an intermediary bridge to promote cultural exchange activities between the province and other countries in the”Melodies of Peace“- a national music event within the framework of this festival,” Nam said.
Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Minh Hang highly appreciated the efforts of Quang Tri Province in organizing the Festival for Peace, which aligns with the trend and helps promote solidarity, cooperation, and national strength.

To spread the festival’s message of peace, Hang said she would ask the Director General of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) to record the festival’s video and spread it worldwide.
She will also promote coordination between central agencies and Quang Tri to organize the festival activities successfully.
Also on the same day, at a meeting with the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, Secretary Nguyen Minh Triet said that his union would team up with the Quang Tri authorities to hold the Wish for Peace program on the evening of July 26, 2024.
He said the union would direct all levels of unions nationwide to hold a candle-lighting ceremony of gratitude simultaneously on the evening of July 26, 2024, which includes a gratitude memorial ceremony, art performances, and singing for fallen heroes.
The candle-lighting ceremony will be held at two national cemeteries, The Truong Son Martyrs Cemetery and The Road 9 Martyrs Cemetery, and the Peace Wishes program of the festival.
Triet said the union would launch a donation movement for social security activities, including the construction of welfare projects and support for needy families.
