Emerging over five millennia ago in the ancient land of India, yoga is a profound discipline that aspires to foster an intrinsic equilibrium between body and mind, thought and action, mastery and fulfillment, and a transcendent communion with nature, ultimately guiding practitioners toward the realization of their latent potential.
Acknowledging its profound humanitarian essence and holistic health benefits, the United Nations General Assembly officially designated June 21 as International Yoga Day.
This is the third year that Quang Tri has held the International Yoga Day event in collaboration with the Embassy of India in Vietnam. This year’s theme is “Yoga for One Earth, One Health.”
In 2025, Quang Tri is the inaugural province to host the International Yoga Day celebration, part of a broader program comprising 30 events across 30 provinces and cities nationwide.
Colonel Muthukrishnan, Defense Attaché of India to Vietnam, speaks at the event.
Addressing the gathering, Colonel Muthukrishnan, Defense Attaché of India to Vietnam, conveyed his delight at the celebration of International Yoga Day 2025.
For Colonel Muthukrishnan, Yoga serves as a discipline that nurtures both physical and mental health, holding profound personal resonance for himself and many others. Commending the initiative to celebrate International Yoga Day, he expressed his aspiration that the event garners widespread public support, positioning Yoga as a cultural bridge that promotes unity.

Through this event, he conveyed his aspiration that the populace would attain a more profound appreciation for the comprehensive benefits of yoga while encouraging the community to actively engage in outdoor pursuits to fortify both physical and mental well-being.
Nguyen Trieu Thuong expressed optimism about the tightened relationship between Quang Tri Province and India, expecting further growth in the cultural, investment, and trade sectors. “In the coming period, we look forward to continued support from the Indian Embassy in promoting cultural exchanges and welcoming artistic troupes, businesses, investors, and tourists from India to explore the extensive development opportunities in Quang Tri,” he said.
