Quang Tri is calling for investment in this magnificent tourism area.
At a height of over 100 meters, the magnificent Ba Voi waterfall is surrounded by thousands of old trees and roars with white foam. If properly and methodically invested in, this place has a lot of potential to grow into a beautiful, popular tourist destination.
According to Nguyen Duc Tan, the director of the Provincial Investment, Trade, and Tourism Promotion Center, the 120-hectare Ba Voi waterfall eco-tourism area planning project has recently received approval from the Provincial People’s Committee. The project identifies the area as a tourist destination with opportunities for adventure eco-tourism, leisure, nature exploration, and community tourism.
Consequently, the tourist area is designed using the following functional subdivisions: Division 1 is a 24-hectare adventure tourism area that includes rocky beaches, a dry stream, and stops along the stream, as well as special landscape areas in the center of the waterfall.
Division 2 is a tourist area with a forest canopy that spans roughly 19.5 hectares and features tourist areas, education about forest protection, rest areas along streams, and rescue services. Division 3 is a 9.5-hectare landscape protection area that features natural landscapes, streamside rest areas, viewing areas, and rescue facilities.
Division 4 is a 43-hectare tourist center that has parks, food services, reception areas, parking lots with rest areas, resettlement areas, and technical infrastructure systems.
With a total area of roughly 24 hectares, Division 5 is a community tourism area that features resorts, communal living areas, residential areas with homestay accommodations, and camping areas beneath the forest canopy.
Mr. Nguyen Duc Tan claims that the Ba Voi waterfall is situated beneath the highest mountain peak in Quang Tri province, Voi Mep Mountain (Ta Linh Son), which is more than 1,700 meters above sea level. Although Ba Voi, a distinctive landscape at the Hieu River’s headwaters, has long been known, its potential for socioeconomic development has not been fully realized.
Travelers from abroad and domestic travelers alike are drawn to the Ba Voi waterfall and its ecosystem because of its breathtaking scenery, pleasant climate, and location among nearly pristine forests.
The Ba Voi waterfall eco-tourism area is intended to be situated roughly in the middle of the province’s main travel routes, particularly as seen in the East-West Economic Corridor international tourism map. Ba Voi waterfall is a unique and rare destination, but despite its rarity and uniqueness, not many people visit it because of low funding and a basic service infrastructure system. Additionally, rangers are only occasionally present to safeguard the forest. Visitors include locals, backpackers, and environmental researchers.
To promote tourism for economic development, the Provincial People’s Council issued Resolution No. 167/NQ-HDND dated December 9, 2021, on investment in preserving the relic system for 2022-2025 and Resolution No. 12/2022/NQ-HDND dated April 15, 2022, on supporting tourism development in Quang Tri in the period 2022-2030 to attract investment in the tourism sector.
