The People’s Committee of the central province of Quang Tri is calling for financial support from the Industrial Nank of Korea (IBK) to build a new school in Vinh Linh District, with an estimated budget of around US$2.13 million.
The project is part of the celebrations marking the 80th anniversary of the Vietnamese Government Office (August 28, 1945 – 2025). It aims to enhance educational facilities for local students and strengthen the partnership between the Government Office, Quảng Trị Province, and the Industrial Bank of Korea (IBK), as well as between Vietnam and South Korea.The school is designed to have 16 classrooms, 16 practical training rooms, a multifunctional room, a library, and a sports playground.

During a working session with a delegation from the Trade Union of the Government Office on October 31, Hoàng Nam, Vice Chairman of the Quảng Trị People’s Committee, highlighted the province’s development potential and its incentive policies for investors.He expressed gratitude for the support from the Trade Union of the Government Office and IBK in constructing a swimming pool at Cam Tuyên Primary and Secondary School in Cam Lộ District, aimed at preventing drowning accidents among students.He said despite Quang Tri’s strong academic tradition, the province still faces infrastructure challenges, with many schools lacking essential teaching facilities.Pham Quang Tien, standing vice chairman of the Trade Union of the Government Office, said that the Trade Union has facilitated IBK’s support with around US$39,500 contribution to construct the swimming pool in Cam Lo, set to begin on November 1, 2024. IBK is also expected to sponsor some social projects in Quang Tri as proposed by the Trade Union of the Government Office.Park Kyung Il, General Director of IBK’s Hanoi branch, said that IBK has undertaken various social projects in Vietnam, particularly in education, to bring essential benefits to students.The delegation will report Quang Tri’s proposal to construct the school in Vinh Linh to the leaders of the Government Office and IBK, preparing for an official meeting on November 20, 2024, where all relevant details for this social project will be discussed and finalized.
