Nguyen Long Hai, Secretary of the Quang Tri Provincial Party Committee, on December 25 led a working delegation to inspect two major infrastructure projects: the National Highway 15D and the coal conveyor system from Laos to Vietnam.
During the on-site inspection visit, Nguyen Long Hai received a detailed update on the progress of the National Highway 15D project, a 92 km road that is classified as a level III-IV route with two to four lanes.

Provincial authorities are seeking VND950 billion (US$37.2 million) from the central government to upgrade the 13.8 km section from My Thuy Port to the National Highway. An 8 km stretch from National Highway 1 to the Cam Lo-La Son Expressway is awaiting approval from the Prime Minister, with an estimated budget of VND990 billion ($38.8 million).

Additionally, the 34 km segment from the Cam Lo-La Son Expressway to the Western Ho Chi Minh Road is finalizing its report under a public-private partnership (PPP) model, with an investment of more than VND5.6 trillion ($219.5 million).

Regarding the coal conveyor project, the provincial government has approved an investment of nearly VND1.5 trillion ($62.7 million) for Nam Tien Company, which will construct a 6.1 km conveyor system for transporting coal from Laos to Vietnam.

During his visit, Secretary Hai also reviewed the situation at the border gate, focusing on import-export activities and security. He commended the efforts of local units in managing and securing the border area, as well as their effective collaboration in crime prevention.
Hai called on the provincial government and relevant departments to address any obstacles related to investment and construction at the border gate.

As part of the visit, the delegation paid homage at the Army Corps 2 relic site and visited the families of policy beneficiaries in Ba Long Commune. The delegation is also scheduled to meet with the Standing Committee of the Dakrong District Party Committee to discuss socio-economic development and key tasks for 2025.
