Quang Tri provides political training for 50 Laos officials

Fifty current officials holding leadership positions and aspiring to leadership roles in the departments and agencies at the provincial and district levels in the provinces of Salavan and Savannakhet (Laos) will undergo a 10-month intensive training program in political theory. The training will take place in Quang Tri, Vietnam.

The training course commenced today, March 5, with the presence of the Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Council Nguyen Dang Quang, and Head of the Organizational Committee of the Provincial Party Committee Phan Van Phung.

Over the course of 10 months in the 13th training session (XIII), participants will undergo a curriculum that includes 3 months of Vietnamese language instruction by Quang Tri Pedagogical College, 6 months of Political Theory studies led by Le Duan Political School, a 1-month break for holidays and Tet, as well as field research within the province and nationally to gain a deeper understanding of the socio-economic situation, culture, and people of Vietnam.

The Political Theory section follows the new program of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, consisting of 13 subjects totaling 1,056 periods. This program equips participants with essential knowledge about Marxist-Leninist ideology, Ho Chi Minh’s thoughts, the viewpoints and policies of the Communist Party of Vietnam, as well as the laws and policies of the Vietnamese state. Additionally, it covers administrative practices, leadership skills, and management techniques. The aim is to help participants apply theoretical knowledge to practical work.

Since 2008, the Provincial Party Committee Standing Board has assigned Le Duan Political School, in collaboration with the Organizational Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and various departments, to conduct 12 courses of Political Theory training, benefiting 530 officials from the provinces of Salavan and Savannakhet. The 13th course continues the cooperation agreement between Quang Tri Province and the two Laotian provinces for the 2023-2025 period, as signed by high-level delegations in December 2022 in Dong Ha City.

In his opening speech, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People’s Council Nguyen Dang Quang affirmed that this course builds upon the previous achievements in politics, economics, culture, society, and the spirit of solidarity between Quang Tri Province and the provinces of Salavan and Savannakhet, as well as between the two parties and states in general.

Therefore, he requested that the teaching staff of Le Duan Political School, based on the approved curriculum, apply the realities of the Lao revolution and the practical situation of the two provinces to analyze and theorize during the teaching process. This will create favorable conditions for the participants in both their academic studies and practical applications in their work. To successfully implement this, he urged relevant agencies to actively support Le Duan Political School in fulfilling its mission of providing Political Theory training for officials from Salavan and Savannakhet provinces.

Training in Political Theory is a special and politically significant task that the Party and the State are highly concerned about concerning Laos. It contributes to building a special relationship between Vietnam and Laos, which is growing sustainably. Building on the success of the previous 12 courses, there is confidence that this course will be a great success.
